So the post arrived…

I’d forgotten about most of the books that were inside those packages, the only was I was expecting was the one from Australia. Four packages, five books plus those already here…

The Hurricane Party, Binu and Lion’s Honey are all Canongate Myths books from Amazon marketplace yet still in their shiny plastic wrappers and sent by Amazon. That threw me a bit as I didn’t think I’d bought anything else from Amazon proper. I collect the Canongate Myths and highly recommend you check them out if you like mythology.

I’ve already started reading The Gathering by Kelley Armstrong which was a pre-order. The mahoosive Jodi P is House Rules from BookMooch; I’ll probably need wrist supports after tackling it.

Lost In A Good Book by Jasper Fforde was the mooch from Australia. It’s a well travelled book and I would normally avoid mooching from so far away but it was more of a swap, as I sent a book in the opposite direction and the moocher listed this especially for me. That kind of bookish community behaviour makes me feel warm and fuzzy.

Linda Gilliard has sort of become ReadItSwapIt’s adopted author. As she’s not a bestseller, she got dropped by her publishers and decided to release House of Silence as a Kindle book so that her fans would get a chance to read it. It’s a steal at £1.90 and yes I bought a copy despite not having an ereader. It addition I got a second hand copy of Star Gazing off Awesome Books along with Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick (ordered after a couple of glasses of wine, hic). I’ve always loved the cover of Hush Hush so grabbed it for a couple of quid.

Death’s Mistress by Karen Chance and The Magicians by Lev Grossman are another couple of Amazon marketplace buys. I’ve been seeing The Magicians mentioned quite a lot online lately though in hindsight I’m not sure if it’s a must read soon book.

I might come back and add links to the books later, but I need to go enjoy that rare sunshine!
