I'd just like to share...I finally got myself a Kindle! I think Amazon should get an award for easiest straight out the box experience. It had managed to sync my existing purchases even before I'd got to the home page.
It will not be replacing real books in my life.
Uses:
Review books (it's getting increasingly common for them to be provided in ebook format).
Giant books with so many pages I can hardly lift them.
When I get to the end of a book and am desperate to read the next in the series.
Classics (If I love them I will buy the Vintage Classics edition at a later date).
Books that are only easily available in ebook format (eg. Angelic and House of Silence).
Books with embarrassing covers (OK maybe I'm being a bit silly on this one...)

I do not have CAPTCHA switched on (if it's gone rogue and appears, please inform me). After an increase in spam, I have turned off the name/URL option. You can comment with a Wordpress or Google account which should cover all legitimate users. I read all your comments although I sometimes respond via Twitter.

I'm envious. i secretly want a kindle or nook or something. There's just no way I can justify it, because I'm saving up for a trip to Britain
