#royalreading

Whilst the country is in the grip of Royal Wedding Fever (actually I haven't seen this personally, it's just what the papers say), there are those amongst us that would rather read a book. Scott Pack and @louloulou have come up with a plan to read a whole book next Friday instead of watching the wedding.

I'm not a big fan of weddings in general so was only going to watch five minutes or so of I Do, confetti throwing and an ooh at the dress (Scott has kindly allowed us girlies to have a quick look at the dress during our read). Though I am more than happy that we've got a free day off work just in case we wanted to watch. There are benefits to having a Royal family.

Join in on Twitter with the hashtag #royalreading and spread the word!

  1. Believe it or not, but people all over the world are going to be glued to the TV ... not me, mind you, but my Mom already declared she'd simply HAVE to watch the wedding :-D !!

  2. Hehe, I quite like seeing the Union Jack everywhere I go! Nice for us Brits to show a bit of patriotism like our American cousins! Must admit, I'll watch the wedding but that's as far as my interest goes - no street parties or get togethers round here.

  3. You get the day off?? I guess everyone would just stay home to watch anyway so you would have to.
I won't be watching any of it either. I'm not a wedding person or really a celebrity person. I'm sure I will hear all about in the news whether I watch it or not :-)
Have a great day off reading!
You'll have to let us know if you cave and watch it.

  4. I just saw this from a friend on Tumblr. I lol'd and then I thought of your post.

"The royal wedding couldn’t be more BBC if it was the state funeral of David Attenborough and he was being buried in a TARDIS."
-Charlie Brooker on 10 O’Clock Live last night, mocking the idea that anyone would watch the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton on any other channel.
