Top Ten Books Recommended To Me

This week's Top Ten (hosted by The Broke and the Bookish) is for those books we wouldn't have read without recommendations.

I've found some of my favourite books by accident so a lot of this is more a top ten books that would still be lurking on my TBR without a recommendation! I'm not going to write much today so click on a cover for more info via Goodreads.

  1. I enjoyed both The Tent the Bucket and Me and The Book Thief. the Night Watch is on my TBR and The Guernesey Literary etc on my wish list for later.

  3. (Sorry accidentally hit post before I finished) I adore The Historian and I'm totally guilty of shoving it on to my friends (who, in fairness, end up loving it as well). In fact, one of my friends from 800 miles away rang me up one Saturday morning to ask the author's name again as she wanted to recommend it to someone at a coffee shop :)

  4. I love Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society! The Book Thief is on my TR list. I love the cover you posted. I've only ever seen black one, and I much prefer this one.

  5. I'm fixing to read Sarah Waters' The Little Stranger soon. I'll have to keep The Night Watch in mind if I come away loving the other book.

Never heard of Emma Kennedy, but a book about camping in the 70s that gets blurbs from Dawn French and Jon Ronson can't be bad at all. Onto the wish list it goes.

  6. The Boof Thief was recommended to me too by my Grandma! I have The Historian, but still haven't read it and I really want to read The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society (which sounds rather weird from the name alone and therefore, intriguing!) and Water For Elephants!

P.S.: All those covers together look rather pretty! :)

  7. The Tent, the Bucket, and Me looks hilarious! I just heard of The Night Watch recently, so it's nice to see that someone has read it and enjoyed it.

  8. Water for Elephants is excellent! And I've had The Book Thief recommended to me as well. I better get on that one for sure soon!

Thanks for visiting my page :o)
