Half Way Mark

So we're past half way through the year and Goodreads tells me I've read 105 books out of my goal of 130. Actually Goodreads is getting pushy and asking me to increase my goal every time I log in but I think you can't go around moving goalposts. I based my target on last year's reading so next year I will do the same. As it is I will hit this year's target in a couple of months and then I can retire from reading.

I'm going to be a bad blogger here and not provide links but you can easily find books 54 onwards by searching this blog via the Blogger bar at the top. Everything else you can find on Goodreads.

Are you on track with this year's challenges?

  1. And I thought I was a fast reader with book No. 81 currently in the works. I'm impressed!
My goal for this year were 100 books, but by the looks of it I will be able to take the last few months of the year off too *lol*.

  2. Wow, 105. Good job on that.

Last year I read 35, so I went with a 50 book goal this year. I'm already at 35 read now. But last year I read quite a few chunksters (Pillars of the Earth, first five in the Outlander series...), so page wise might be on the same track.

  3. wow! you are doing well! I think I'm on 72! :) well done!

  4. How funny that Goodreads does that! I'm glad I didn't make a goal, because I would be sorely tempted to keep upping my number!

  5. I upped my number once already. My original goal was 100 since I had no idea how many I would read since I never before kept track. I reached that May 31, so I upped in to 200. I am currently ahead of my goal, but I know I will have less time later this year, so I'm sticking with that one.

  6. I set a goal of 100, but it became clear I'd hit that early, so I made it 111. I am at 75 so far. I won't change it again though as I am getting married later this year and will have a month or so with little reading time over that period

  7. You've read A HUNDRED AND FIVE BOOKS????? Damn girl, I'm not even close. I'm not gonna do that in a year. In June, I clocked at 41.

    Big ups!

  8. That is an impressive list. When I am free later I am going to do my nosy and read through it properly. I think I am at 80 which means I am on track for beating last years total. I haven't set a target though. I will slow down after the summer but I am sure I will still beat last year. I probably wouldn't change my goal total either.

  9. Geez, you surely are a fast reader Ellie! I haven't heard of many of those books on your list but I do want to read Hunger Games considering your high praise. My goal is 75 books this year and I am about half-way but I'll be lucky if I hit 50. :P

Everyone loves comments, right? I read them all and do my best to visit your blog if you leave a link (and you're not a spambot).
