A lot of you will be recovering from Dewey’s readathon this week. It can pretty much account for all the books I’ve read this week, I didn’t even post last Monday as I’d only read Deadline and have been struggling through Harvesting the Heart.
I did however raise a fantastic £143.27 for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Looks like you enjoyed the Terry Pratchett. I do plan on getting back into his books again at some point.
If you like ghost stories I read "Turn of the Screw" last year by Henry James and it scared the hell out of me. Ghosts and creepy children! The Haunting of Hill House was good although not scary. The Shining by Stephen King also scared me half to death. I haven't read any Edgar Alan Poe but his collections are always recommended to me. Going to start that as my next Halloween read after Odd Thomas.

What are you thinking about "Harvesting the Heart"?? Excited to hear your thoughts. I just read "Change of Heart" by Jodi Picoult. Excellent!

I can usually plough through a Jodi P in a day or a couple of evenings but I've been reading Harvesting the Heart all week. It's starting to get better now but it's not up to her usual standard.
Mr. Jelly is quite scary.

In honor of Halloween, I like to read creepy short story collections. I liked Full Dark No Stars by Stephen King (although it's not really that creepy).
Your readathon was very successful! Three books, all highly rated. I also read 3 books in the read-a-thon which I was very happy with.

I'm reading del Toro/Hogan's The Fall. Have Dust by Joan Frances Turner in my TBR and hoping to get to Peter Straub's Ghost Story this week as well.

Good question about the Halloween reading pick…I would say anything by Darren Shaw or the Monstrumologist by Rick Yancey if you like YA. Or Frankenstein.. 🙂 Nice job raising all that money for Alzheimers!
