AKA Showcase Sunday
A few absolute bargains I couldn’t pass up this week as well as another one for the Paris in July pile (had better get reading) and a print copy of The Uninvited to replace the egalley gone wrong. Aren’t publishers great?
For Review:
Freedom Fries and Cafe Creme by Jocelyne Rapinac (Gallic Books)
The Uninvited by Liz Jensen (Bloomsbury Circus)
Bought:
A Walk in the Park by Jill Mansell
Witch Child by Celia Rees
Paper Towns by John Green
Also, some non-bookish things as I went to London Film & Comic Con this weekend; Ray Harryhausen autograph, The Steampunk Literary Review, unicorn t-shirt, Ewoks cartoon cell. I have more photos of LFCC on Instagram if you’re interested.
Showcase Sunday is hosted by Books, Biscuits & Tea.

Hahaha, I love the unicorn shirt!
I want that t-shirt, Ellie! So terribly cute ;))) Also Freedom Fries and Cafe Creme looks fab, I'll be looking forward to your review!
I've got the Uninvited and Witch Child on my bookcase at home waiting to be read. They sound such good books 😀
Fab book haul!

I love the Ray Harryhausen autograph. I think I even remember that scene….
With Child has also been a Daily Deal on Amazon Germany this week though I bravely resisted. I honestly don't want to overfeed my new *drumroll* Kindle. Though I've laid eyes on several collections of classics from Delphi such as http://www.amazon.co.uk/Complete-Charles-Dickens-Illustrated-ebook/dp/B004RZGUBM because I really want to do some catching up / revisiting of the classics and the Delphi collections seem a great choice.
OMG i love all those books!! and i WANT/NEED them hehe. 'The uninvited' and 'Witch Child' were ones i haven't heard of until now but reading about them makes me think…wow! hehe.
How gorgeous is the cover of that 1st book?!?!
Do you like Jill Mansell book's? Have you read any of her other ones?
Happy reading xx Are you doing the 'Once a upon a read-a-thon' read-a-thon? that starts midnight tonight? x
I read loads of Jill Mansell when I was a student and my reading revolved mostly around chick-lit. Her books can be a bit samey but they are great, indulgent, light reading and it's been a while since I picked one up.
I don't really have the time to participate in many readathons as I work full time and already spend as much of my spare time reading as possible. Review Copy Cleanup, Bout of Books and Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon are the only ones I make exceptions for otherwise it'd be a constant readathon!
The Uninvited does look interesting – I really liked The Rapture! 🙂
I really enjoyed Witch Child and also bought Paper Towns on the kindle daily deal – sometimes the deals are amazing!
Picked up Paper Towns too. Perhaps we can finally work out what all the fuss is about, eh?
I LOVE that unicorn t-shirt!! Paper Towns and A Walk In The Park have been on my wishlist for a while. I hope you'll like them! 🙂
Apologies for the late comment.
Thank you for steering me towards "Freedom Fries and Cafe Creme" and "The Uninvited" through this post. I've added both to my Kindle Wish List.
Enjoy!!!
