#Readathon: The End

Local time: 13:00
Pages read: 1090
Hours spent reading: 18

Which hour was most daunting for you?
I guess when my alarm went off at 5am (hour 16?) and I couldn't bring myself to wake up and carry on reading after a quick snooze! Felt OK when I went to bed, should have stayed up longer!

Could you list a few high-interest books that you think could keep a Reader engaged for next year?
I think all my book choices this year were good readathon material, but otherwise I find Jodi Picoult and Jojo Moyes write great page-turners.

Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year?
I think it's organised pretty well already. I don't know if the start times could alternate between Spring/Autumn readathons so different time zones get a chance at different hours. Starting in the afternoon or evening is tough unless you can sleep all day.

What do you think worked really well in this year’s Read-a-thon?
I appreciated that the starting and finishing questions were posted a little bit ahead of time. As always, the enthusiasm of the organisers and volunteers was fab.

How many books did you read?
3.5

What were the names of the books you read?
Pantomime, The Confidant, The Calling, A Street Cat Named Bob.

Which book did you enjoy most?
Pantomime by Laura Lam.

Which did you enjoy least?
Not finished it yet but A Street Cat Named Bob isn't quite living up to what I expected.

How likely are you to participate in the Read-a-thon again? What role would you be likely to take next time?
This was my third readathon so yes, it's quite likely I will do the next, although still as a reader (who sleeps a bit).

  1. I agree with you about changing times - Hour One was 9 pm where I am and it was hard getting started. 1000 pages, well done!

  3. I didn't even set an alarm... I thought I'd spontaneously wake up around 7AM as usual, but slept in till 9...
I like your suggestion of switching the starting times up, because I think it would be easier to start in the morning than in the afternoon!
Go you for reading 3,5 books! :)
