Incoming!

AKA Showcase Sunday

It's one of those weeks where I doubt my sanity. I received a prize that I don't remember winning or entering for but it's lovely, and glossy and full of amazing photography so I'm not complaining. Then there was one of those NetGalley request granted emails that made me think, what's that book? Did I request it? I must have and Gameboard of the Gods sounds pretty amazing but it now has a little "high request volume" note on it, leaving me feeling a little guilty.

For review:
The Poisoned Island by Lloyd Shepherd (Simon & Schuster)
Gameboard of the Gods by Richelle Mead (Penguin)

Won:
Africa (Quercus)

Showcase Sunday is hosted by Books, Biscuits & Tea.

  6. Enjoy the Africa book, it looks stunning, and I always love finding out more than they could fit into the show. Was it one of the Twitter competitions Quercus was running? They were all easy to enter (and forget about!)

Gameboard of the Gods looks good too, though I haven't heard of The Poisoned Island. I'll have to check it out.

    Have a great week!

    1. It could have been but I unfollowed them when they got really spammy during the show, so must have been an old one. Anyway, it was a nice surprise and I'll have to check out the augmented content.

  8. Africa does look gorgeous, and I'll be looking forward to your thoughts on Gameboard of Gods - I found Mead a bit underwhelming in the last few books I've read. *fingers crossed* Enjoy!

  10. They all look great! I've had one book from LibraryThing that I can't remember entering for - it was really not my kind of thing at all. :-)

Otherwise, I'm pretty good at keeping track of what I won, requested, etc. And when something is not on my spreadsheet, it's like "where did that come from?", just like you had.
