AKA Showcase Sunday

I already had an egalley of The Shining Girls but HarperCollins made my day when I got home to find a sexy proof on my doorstep. I am so looking forward to this one, and now I can gaze at it lovingly. Speaking of egalleys, it doesn’t look like NetGalley are triggering emails at the moment, so I missed the gorgeous Zenn Scarlett off my list last week. And now I have to login to check requests, I’m so much more likely to request random titles such as The City of Devi which is about Mumbai on the brink of nuclear destruction.

Also on the doormat this week, a retelling of The Island of Doctor Moreau in Megan Shepherd’s The Madman’s Daughter and Canongate’s reissue of Laidlaw.

For review:
The Shining Girls by Lauren Beukes (HarperCollins)
The Madman’s Daughter by Megan Shepherd (Harper Voyager)
Laidlaw by William McIlvanney (Canongate)
Zenn Scarlett by Christian Schoon (Strange Chemistry)
The City of Devi by Manil Suri (Bloomsbury)

Showcase Sunday is hosted by Books, Biscuits & Tea.
