Incoming!

AKA Showcase Sunday

So many exciting books this last fortnight. James Smythe does YA! New James Dawson with hot pink edging! Dragons x2! New Alison Rattle! Matt Haig's Reasons to Stay Alive! I've already read Way Down Dark (review closer to publication) and Reasons to Stay Alive, both books I'd recommend.

I also got my Ninja Book Swap package from Beth @ The Readers Corner which included Talon the new dragon fantasy series from Julie Kagawa (I'm hoping this is more Immortal Rules, less Iron Fey). I also got a lovely Paperchase notebook, dinosaur and ice cream stickers and a bar of bunny chocolate.

For review:
Way Down Dark by James Smythe (Hodder)
Under My Skin by James Dawson (Hot Key Books)
The Beloved by Alison Rattle (Hot Key Books)
Reasons to Stay Alive by Matt Haig (Canongate)
Voyage of the Basilisk by Marie Brennan (Titan)
Black Wood by SJI Holliday (Black & White Publishing)
Sword of the North by Luke Scull (Head of Zeus)

Gifted:
Talon by Julie Kagawa

Showcase Sunday is hosted by Books, Biscuits & Tea.

  2. Love what you got in the Ninja Book Swap package! Paperchase notebooks are beautiful; have to stop myself from buying loads every time I go there! Talon was an okay book - I enjoyed it but sadly it wasn't anywhere as good as The Immortal Rules series (I really disliked the Iron Fey series! I've also heard amazing things about Matt Haig's new book. Enjoy your new goodies.

  5. I haven't heard of most of those books.
I hope you enjoy Talon more than I did - I was disappointed with it :/

  6. I've read an Alison Rattle novel before, it was a good read, hope this new one is good too. I thought the Matt Haig book was very good and very helpful. I didn't manage to do the Ninja swap this time but loved it last time. Nice stuff you got. :)

  7. Great haul. Talon was a DNF for me but I have seen a few reviews that really liked it, so I'm looking forward to seeing your thoughts.
