The Month That Was... July 2016

+ International Giveaway

People have finally stopped coming round to look at the house and we've had a nice peaceful month with a bit of gardening and trips out to the nearby countryside. Something has started eating our baby radishes so I'm out there inspecting leaves on a daily basis. We have identified several tacky statues that we'd buy for the garden if money was no object! Unfortunately we'll just have to make do with something small and tasteful. Boo.

I read nine books last month, with some really top-notch fiction. I've slipped with my challenges again but sometimes life gets in the way. I at least bought some non-fiction and classics this month, if that counts...

As always, there's a chance to win one of the books pictured below. It's open internationally and you don't have to follow if you don't want (but please don't cheat, I do check).

August brings with it Nine Worlds and Bath Bookshop Crawl, shout if you're going to either!

Here's what made it onto the blog...

  1. I planted a small selection of veggies this year, but all that survived were the borage (great for bees! but I've yet try the flowers) and one single pea plant. I have since eaten the peas, they were lovely. And I planted a few more, but not sure if it is too late for them.
A mixture of slugs, rabbits, birds and mice are the culprits in my garden.

  2. Well done on reading 9 books, especially with everything else going on at the moment. There looks some really good reads there.
