AKA Showcase Sunday
Whilst I was London I had a little wander down Charing Cross Road and bought a couple of books from Foyles. As soon as I saw Zombies vs Unicorns I had grabby hands. I think I’d heard people talking about it before but it never really registered in my mind until I saw it. I picked up Advent in hardback because it has a lovely shimmery cover and whilst I’ll probably not read it before the paperback is out, I much prefer this one.
Thanks to Kara-Karina for reminding me that the new Karen Chance was out last week (I have read it already). In contrast, I have only managed to get through 100 pages of my book group read The Space Between Us; am just plain bored by it.

For Review:
The Madness Underneath by Maureen Johnson (Penguin USA)
Bought:
The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater
The Space Between Us by Thrity Umrigar
Zombies vs Unicorns by various
Advent by James Treadwell
Fury’s Kiss by Karen Chance
Bright Young Things by Scarlett Thomas
Fracture by Megan Miranda
Showcase Sunday is hosted by Books, Biscuits & Tea.

Great books! The Raven Boys looks awesome and I loved Fracture! Hope you do too!

Ooh, Bright Young Things – I've had my eye on that too, I'll look forward to your review. I can't really justify buying it myself at the moment, after reading ever since reading The End of Mr Y for the sci-fi challenge I went out and bought three more Scarlett Thomas books so I'd better finish those first!
It was only 20p for Kindle! I have got the impression that it's not her best from others, wouldn't have bothered if it were normal price.
Wow, you were lucky – it's back up to £5.12 now. I would have had it for 20p!
Sophia – tried to reply directly to your comment but it doesn't seem to be working at the moment – if you don't have a Kindle, I saw Bright Young Things in Fopp this week for a mere £2! If you have a branch near you it would be rude to pass up such a bargain (I certainly didn't!)

I have to admit I would like to get my hands on zombies vs unicorns as well – unicorns aren't in many books I read while I love zombie tales!
Love your haul this week. Zombies vs Unicorns sounds just awesome from the title but then the cover is just even better! Definitely going to check it out. I agree Advent has a lovely cover. I'm sure I have it from netgalley to read but not quite sure. Great books, hope you enjoy them all 🙂

I love books with lots of stories in them. Hope Zombies vs. Unicorns is good! 🙂
A nice bunch this week! Love the cover for Advent just heard such "meh" things about it. I may have to try and force my Kindle copy from NetGalley sometime and decide for myself. And SO curious about The Raven Boys.
From what I've seen, the meh reviews are from people expecting something different. I think it's erring on the side of literary and some people have said it's beautifully written.
I just gave in and bought Bright Young Things on the kindle myself. I wanted it in paperback really but I figured it was only 20p, I can still buy it in paperback later if I want
Hi Ellie
Great haul there. Would I be classed as a bad person for admitting that I'm envious that you've got your hands on The Madness Underneath? 🙂
I visited London recently and I'm a bit sad that Murder One has closed as a store and is now online. A great little store on Charing Cross Road, but I do like visiting Foyle's while visit London.
Enjoy your reads and all the best.
Great haul, Ellie 🙂 Extra love to Zombies vs Unicorns and the Scarlett Thomas book!
I've ordered quite a few books this week (book buying ban, I need you!) including By Light Alone. Yes, I could not restrain myself 😉
