I managed to get a bit more caught up with reviews in February as well as reading 14 books which is good going for a short and fairly busy month. I also got to read The Machine, James Smythe’s new book and it is fantastic. My review should be up on the blog sometime this month. You should also start to see some guest reviews trickling in, the first of which is The Silence kindly reviewed by Yvann @ Reading with Tea.
In other news, I booked my hotel and ticket for London Book Fair. Anyone that wants to meet up, just shout (will be around Sunday afternoon through to Tuesday evening). Bournemouth Book Club now has its own blog (run by Vicky) if you fancy seeing what our thoughts are on our group reads.
Here’s what made it onto the blog…
5 stars awarded to: If I Stay by Gayle Forman, Dot, Dash by Jonathan Pinnock and Fuse by Julianna Baggott.
Disappointed with: Mystic City by Theo Lawrence, The Aquariums of Pyongyang by Kang Chol-Hwan, Control Point by Myke Cole and The Specimen by Martha Lea.
Read and awaiting review: The Machine by James Smythe (5/5), Ashes of Honor by Seanan McGuire (4/5), Across the Universe by Beth Revis (4/5), Pretty Girl Thirteen by Liz Coley (3/5) and Between Two Thorns by Emma Newman (4/5).
I traded in my weekly updates for this monthly feature, starting with The Month That Was… January 2013, announced some winners and rambled on about crime fiction. Of course, I added loads more books to my wishlist. I answered what “adult” fiction is in my own way and resurrected the A-Z of mythology.

You had a really good month of reading. I've heard the second Myke Cole book is much better than the first but I'm having a hard time motivating myself to read a lesser book just so that I can get to the better one.
You constantly amaze me by how much you review each month. I also loved Gayle Forman's book, If I Stay.
Have fun at the London Book Fair– I bet it's amazing!
14 books for such a short month. I only managed 8 and I'm still quite behind on caught up on my review backlog.
