AKA Showcase Sunday
This week has been a busy book-filled week and I think I have been quite restrained in the face of temptation. I know, you’re looking at that photo thinking I must not know the definition of restrained. It could have been so much worse. Have been to the Simon & Schuster blogger event, the Firestation Book Swap (Portsmouth) and CSI Portsmouth plus it was my birthday yesterday! That does mean I also have a bunch of Amazon vouchers to spend too…

Dodger, The First Last Kiss, Dead Man’s Land and The Painted Bridge are all signed and I also met the lovely Tanya Byrne at book swap who signed my copy of Heart-Shaped Bruise. Behind the Sofa is a crowd-funded (so my name is in the back) book in aid of Alzheimer’s Research, filled with celebrity memories of Doctor Who and illustrated by Ben Morris. Whilst it’s too late to be a “donor” you can now buy the book from various retailers.

The Painted Bridge by Wendy Wallace (Simon & Schuster)
The First Last Kiss by Ali Harris (Simon & Schuster)
Dead Man’s Land by Robert Ryan (Simon & Schuster)
A Winter Flame by Milly Johnson (Simon & Schuster)
Fever by Mary Beth Keane (Simon & Schuster)
Amped by Daniel H. Wilson (Simon & Schuster)
When It Happens to You by Molly Ringwald (Simon & Schuster)
Dance of Shadows by Yelena Black (Bloomsbury)
Bought:
Behind the Sofa
Gifts:
Dodger by Terry Pratchett
The Bat by Jo Nesbo
Won:
Breathe by Sarah Crossman (Readaraptor)

And as this is the birthday edition, there’s a few non-books too. A Moleskine reading journal (with stickers to express my feelings on the books), Big Bang Theory boxset and Homeland season one (which I haven’t seen any of but keep hearing good things about). Oh yeah and wine…

Showcase Sunday is hosted by Books, Biscuits & Tea.

Just let me dust off this blog thing, I have a review for you! One of my anticipated reads released during lockdown was the follow-up to An Absolutely Remarkable Thing. If you read that, of course will will be dying to know what happened to…
When I look up "restrained" in the dictionary your face is right next to it. Ha. But seriously, great haul. And boy, did my eyes pop out when I saw the signed copy of "Dodger" …
Haha, your definition of restrained is about the same as mine 😉
A Winter Flame looks really cute and OMG, Dance of Shadows!! I can't wait to read that one, it sounds SO good!
Happy reading!
Nice stack 😉 Happy belated birthday!!! Hope you had a great one 🙂
Great pile of new books. Happy birthday!
Now, that S&S event, are you going to do a post on that? I'm curious. I can see that you got some great books from them.
I'm invited to a Dutch publisher's event next week. So exciting!
Yes I will be blogging about it later in the week but I've just had no time. Been out at events 3 days running and loads to catch up on.
What a fantastic pile of books, Ellie! A belated happy birthday from me and the hubster! May you have lots of fantastic books and happiness! 😉
Have a lovely weekend, sweetheart!
Oh jealousy! I declined a review copy of Breathe back when it was being promoted because I presumed it was a thriller, I must have been thinking of something else, but now it's firmly on my wishlist. And A Winter Flame is lovely! And you already have The First Last Kiss? 😮 That's gonna be a good one. And and *snugs* happy birthday again hun. 🙂
The First Last Kiss had just come in, really like the sound of this one. I'm forever getting YA books mixed, don't know what it is about them.
When It Happens to You looks good, I hope I get chance to read it at some point! Hope you enjoy the first series of Homeland – I thought it was excellent! (And very tense.) Happy reading (and happy birthday).
Whoa, massive haul Ellie! Late happy birthday (: The Big Bang Theory is great, and it looks like you got some awesome books as well. Happy reading!
Very restrained considering the temptation! I used to have that Moleskine, I wrote in it a lot before starting my blog.
That pile of books is a beautiful sight 🙂
