AKA Showcase Sunday
Behold, I have bought no books in the Kindle Summer Sale! There are loads that are on my wishlist but I’m pretty sure I’ve read none of the ones I bought in any of the sales. I did have a tiny hiccup on The Works website but I think I’ve bought everything they’ve got that I want now. Here’s to a month of not indiscriminately buying books!
I’ve also updated WIN ALL THE BOOKS! Please check it out if you want to enter oodles of UK giveaways.
The Food of the Gods by H.G. Wells (Hesperus)
Earth Star by Janet Edwards (Harper Voyager)
Bought:
Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder
Magic Study by Maria V. Snyder
Fire Study by Maria V. Snyder
Rebel Heart by Moira Young
Still Alice by Lisa Genova
Showcase Sunday is hosted by Books, Biscuits & Tea.

You did well..I bought a few in the sale, but some were for my daughter so I feel less guilty. And I grabbed Still Alice because I have read it as a library book, and it really made an impression on me..
I also won a book in Gransnet giveaway this week so perhaps I can keep my one click habit at bay f at least for a while…..
Still Alice has been on my wishlist since it first came out. I'm looking forward to it…hopefully it won't go unread too long.
I'm usually all over the Kindle sales BUT I am trying to save some money and those 99ps build up (I have to start somewhere).
Still Alice sounds intriguing so I'll be looking forward to hearing what you think. I might put it on my wishlist, actually.
I really need to get Snyder's Study series! I've heard nothing but great things about it and the copies that The Works have are beautiful!
I really want to start Moira Young's books too. Still Alice sounds good too!
Enjoy 😀
Great haul! I have to read more Snyder's books because I loved her Healer ones. And I got Earth Girl last week so we'll see how I like that series. 😉
Happy reading!
I've read Still Alice. Its an emotional read. I think you'll like it though 🙂
Oh awesome. I REALLY want to read the Moira Young books. And I read Poison Study last year sometime and have still to read on. I do hope to soon. Hope you enjoy all your books. 😀

Haha, Ellie! I totally understand how it goes 🙂 I have Rebel Heart and Earth Girl on my shelves for almost a year already and I still haven't read them. It's tragic I know 🙂 Enjoy all, sweetheart, and I'm gonna check kindle summer sale now :)))
Oh, and THANKS for the link to the UK giveaways blog. Way too often, giveaways on GR are restricted to the US only, and it makes a refreshing change to see so many for the UK. Very excited, and I subscribed, too. 😀
Well done. I myself didn't and bought about 11 books lol.
I love the books by Maria Snyder. I hope you'll enjoy them!

Love the reflection picture! Looks amazing. 🙂 I've already given my opinion on the Study trilogy, though I prefer the original covers. Not sure why.. girl-on-cover usually gives me eyerollitus.
I was also good! Recently bought a couple of games in the Steam sale so unless I see a book I desperately want to read and don't mind not owning, I shall leave the Kindle sale well alone. Was quite tempted by Guilty Pleasures but £2.50 is a little too much.
Annoying I think I have just given Guilty Pleasures to the charity shop…I have several of the other early books if you want them, I can send a package.
I really liked the Study series – Poison Study was definitely my favourite of the trilogy but the whole series is definitely worth a read. I'm less keen on Snyder's Healer series because it just seems less well-written and less well thought out.
And I had no idea that Moira Young series was out. I have Blood Red Road but haven't read it yet.
I have but have not read Blood Red Road too. But I'm not one to sniff at The Works prices.
I was tempted to buy a few books from the summer sale but resisted too. I need to get a hold of the Study series, it seems really good. Enjoy everything. 🙂
I LOVE The sound of Still Alice, it's actually going on my wishlist right now!
I don't own a kindle but would totally spend lots of money in the kindle sale otherwise – so many great books on there!
Happy Sunday Ellie 🙂

My Showcase Sunday if you'd like a look 🙂
I will have a wee look at the win the books link as I am soon to be skint. I cannot wait for your review of Still Alice, I loved this book!

Snap on Earth Star! Congrats on a smaller haul too hun, it's definitely a challenge.
My Showcase Sunday
It sounds strange, but congratulations on not buying!
Happy reading.

Wow, respect for resisting the power of Amazon! I was predictably weak and succumbed to one or ten…but I did get The Women of the Cousins' War, the new Lemony Snicket (for my daughter..and I) and some other goodies. Still Alice is one of my favourite reads as is her second novel, Left Neglected…not as fussed on the third, Love, Anthony.
Oh, I LOVE the Study series!! Hope you enjoy them as well!
Well done on not giving in! I'm the same as you in that I keep buying kindle books but only seem to read Netgalley books on my kindle…I also managed to be good this week on the kindle sale – helped that there weren't any that were on my TBR pile!
I love the Study series – very enjoyable series to read for fun!
I admire your restraint with the kindle sale, hopefully some of it will rub off on me for next time as I've already bought quite a few this time round :/
I love Maria V Snyder, I'm still debating whether I like the new covers or not but I will eventually end up buying them as the new books in the series will match them, and I cant have un-matching series book on my shelf.
enjoy you books my haul
Oh, I just added Poison Study to my TBR list. It sounds great! 🙂
Still Alice is pretty good. Rather sad though! An easy read, but that's not a bad thing.
I'm quite proud of myself for not clicking that Kindle Summer Sale link!
The Poison Study books look good, really need to start those myself. Still Alice sounds interesting too! Hehe, I'm trying to be so strict with myself about The Works and Kindle Daily Deals right now. Not easy… Good luck with it! 🙂
Enjoy your books, and hope you have a great week!
There's a sale? Uh oh…..
I'm ashamed to save I've had Still Alice on my shelf for years – everyone tells me it's fabulous, and yet…it remains unread.
Enjoy!!
