Real life distractions have got in the way of reading as of late. I did make it to a couple of events, The Book of Life launch party and one day of YALC; it’s always good to meet fellow bloggers, booksellers and publishing folk. Magically, the blog has kept itself filled but I don’t feel like I read much at all in July and I have loads of half read books on the go. I daren’t look at my Goodreads goal.
I am still going to Nine Worlds next weekend, so shout if you’re going and we can meet up. I’ll be there the whole weekend and am staying in the con hotel for once. I am likely to be wearing a ridiculous dress at Gollancz’s PROMNADO.
Here’s what made it onto the blog…
5 stars awarded to: Our Lady of the Streets by Tom Pollock + Broken Monsters by Lauren Beukes
Read and awaiting review: The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making by Catherynne M. Valente + The Snake Charm by Laura Lam
Anna Caltabiano answered my questions on time travel, finding time to write and cake. I shared my Top Ten Classics, gave away some audiobooks and signed up to Strange Chemistry Reading Month.
Incoming: All Souls Edition

My goodness, but the UK cover for Queen of the Tearling is much more sinister than the one for the US edition. The only one of these that I've read (or technically, am still reading) is the Deborah Harkness book.
