Bring back summer please?! It’s currently pouring down with rain as I type this and we haven’t really been on any exciting walks thanks to the miserable weather lately.

However I did read another five star book this week, Migrations by Charlotte McConaghy which I’d kind of had for review since last year, oops. The paperback is just out though so I guess my timing wasn’t too bad and I have already shared my review. This is such a beautiful book, please read it if you are at all interested in climate fiction or conservation.

Also on the blog last week was my review of Edward Carey’s The Swallowed Man.

I read The Rookery by Deborah Hewitt (for review) which is the sequel to The Nightjar. I was a bit worried that I couldn’t remember much of the previous book but there was just enough recap to make it all coming flooding back. I really enjoyed this, much more than the first book. Review to come shortly.

Since it’s been raining so much and I’ve just been reading digitally this week, I don’t have a single new photo, so here’s an old one of The Nightjar from my Instagram archives.
