I did a good 15 hours of reading during readathon, so I do have it in me to stay focused on a book all day! In total I read 1302 pages and five books, which were:
The Boyband Murder Mystery by Ava Eldred. This was fun, reminded me of I Was Born for This a bit, it’s a lot about fandom and online friendships.
My Dearest Darkest by Kayla Cottingham. This stuff’s just my cat nip. Posh boarding school with mysterious tunnels, and an accidentally summoned being.
Saga volume 10 by Brian K. Vaughan + Fiona Staples. At last! I cried a bit at the end.
Demon in the Wood by Leigh Bardugo + Dani Pendergast. Prequel graphic novel to Shadow and Bone, focusing on the Darkling.
The Heartstopper Yearbook by Alice Oseman. Not a lot of new material as most the mini-comics included have been published online but it’s nice to have some full colour versions in print.
I also made a start on Gilded by Marissa Meyer. After readathon, a thunderstorm rolled in and the power went out for a bit. So we dusted off a jigsaw puzzle and sat on the floor doing that for an hour or so. It was a good dry run for the Great British Blackouts that they’re suggesting might happen this winter.
Prior to the readathon I read House of Hunger by Alexis Henderson, which I’ll review this week, and the audiobook of The Book of Cold Cases by Simone St. James, which I found a bit boring.
Here’s your token Scully photo (on pre-readathon walkies):
I’m gonna try and go round some blogs this week and catch up with what everyone’s been reading and doing.
New books acquired:
Terry Pratchett: A Life With Footnotes by Rob Wilkins
A Merry Little Meet Cute by Julie Murphy + Sierra Simone (ebook)
My Mechanical Romance by Alexene Farol Follmuth (ebook)
Alias Emma by Ava Glass (ebook)
The Spanish Love Deception by Elena Armas (audiobook)

Great reading progress!!
I tried to read My Mechanical Romance via my library but ended up giving it back after a chapter. I don’t know…I had just finished another YA book and ended up feeling so-so about it and just wasn’t in the mood for another YA book. I’ve heard it’s good though, so maybe one day I’ll try it again. I look forward to your review in the future!
The food looks so yummy and the reading is impressive. Sounds like you had a good readathon. I wasn’t able to participate this time around, which is a bummer.
