The clouds part before you, revealing a high peak, topped with what initially looks like snow. As you peer closer, you realise the mountain is made of books, not rock. The sun glints off the summit, and you make out the words “Cover to be revealed” over and over. Ah, that’s where all the unread ARCs end up.
Welcome to this year’s Wyrd and Wonder hosted by Annemieke @ A Dance With Books, Imyril @ There’s Always Room for One More, Jorie @ Jorie Loves A Story, Ari @ The Book Nook, and Lisa @ Dear Geek Place.
Wyrd and Wonder is a month-long celebration of all things fantasy, and the theme for this year is Comfort Zone. Ari has also created this amazing map. I’ll be travelling around the map using portal magic, of course, so there’s no planned route. I aim to stop by Pirate Cove, Cosy Cottage, Swept Away Straights, The Waters of the Past, and Bite Sized Islands, and am very much trying to avoid Slump Valley!
You can get a list and suggested interpretations at A Dance With Books.
We can never defeat Mount TBR, but I’ll be scaling a small boulder of (hopefully) comforting fantasy reads this month. Maybe this will be the month I actually get back into the October Daye series? I can’t guarantee an avalanche of other books won’t knock me off course.

I hope you’ll enjoy The Honey itch more than I did! I’m also planning on reading some Seanan McGuire this month!
I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews for it, so I’m going in with low expectations!
I really love the map! And your TBR is full of so many amazing books! I love October Daye series!! 😍 And I enjoyed These Hollow Places, even if horror is so not my thing! I hope you’ll manage to read all of them!!
I’ve loved everything of T. Kingfisher’s I’ve read so far. I definitely think she gets a good balance of horror and fantasy, and just really likeable characters.
I wholeheartedly agree with you!!
Good luck with these. I keep intending to try Burris’s books but have yet to.
Nice section of books.
Good luck with your tbr.
Love the graphic you made of the mountains! I’m curious about LONG LIVE EVIL, but I’ve seen somewhat mixed reviews on NetGalley. I still might end up downloading the e-ARC anyway…it seems like a satirical commentary, which I tend to enjoy.
I love the idea that unread ARCs end up as the mountain peaks haha! Just impossibly far away and further with every new book on the pile! I hope you have a lovely month of reading…
[…] of Curiosity Killed the Bookworm is using portals to traverse my map, and is hoping Mt TBR doesn’t knock her […]
The Hollow Places is one of my favorite T. Kingfisher books. Enjoy!
