AKA Showcase Sunday
Sometimes random book post can turn up something exciting. The String Diaries turned up literally tied up in string and with a passionate message from the editor. It’s been billed as for fans of The Historian (like) and A Discovery of Witches (like) so I’m really looking forward to this one. If You Find Me is a literary YA debut which also comes with plenty of heart-felt endorsements from the Orion team.
On the book buying front; one was for book group (and I really need to make myself read it today as meeting is tomorrow) and the other is a series book. So both perfectly justifiable. No random purchases here, go me!

The String Diaries by Stephen Lloyd Jones (Headline)
If You Find Me by Emily Murdoch (Indigo)
Bought:
Frost Burned by Patricia Briggs
Why Be Happy When You Could be Normal? by Jeanette Winterson
Showcase Sunday is hosted by Books, Biscuits & Tea.

If you find me sounds really good! Hope you enjoy them all! 🙂
Love the look of The String Diaries!
I loved the Mercy Thompson books until I reached River Marked and just couldn't get into it enough to finish it. I think it was the change of pace and scenery that threw me–because I'd come to expect action from the off and loved seeing the interactions with the pack. Hope you enjoy your books.

Looking forward to String Diaries review, Ellie! I've just finished second Deborah Harkness and it was gorgeous, so I'm craving more books like it 🙂 Read the synopsis for If You Find Me, and it sounded creepy, and I hope you enjoy new Mercy. It's not her best but it's better than River Marked!
Love the cover of String Diaries. I was wondering what it was when I saw it on your instagram. Sounds like my sort of book. Look forward to seeing your review.
I got If You Find Me this week too. It sounds amazing as does all your other books 🙂

Why Be Happy When You Could be Normal? has an interesting title – although I'm not a big fan of Jeanette's writing. The String Diaries sounds really creepy but I'm intrigued! Looking forward to hearing what you think 🙂
