AKA Showcase Sunday
Move along, nothing to see here… There may have been quite a few books in this week. However, in my defense, I have been turning down a lot lately and I am going to read my paper purchases within a month. Pinkie promise! But just look, THE NEW TANYA BYRNE! STELLA GEMMELL! DRAGONS! And a wishlist book for peanuts in that pesky Kindle sale! Really, I’m doing so well for only buying the one.

The City by Stella Gemmell (Transworld)
Dragonslayers: From Beowulf to St. George by Joseph A. McCullough (Osprey)
The Movement of Stars by Amy Brill (Penguin)
The Sea Sisters by Lucy Clarke (HarperCollins)
Follow Me Down by Tanya Byrne (Headline)
Bought:
Bitter Greens by Kate Forysth
The People of Forever Are Not Afraid by Shani Boianjiu
The Best of All Possible Worlds by Karen Lord
It was also the week of mysterious black envelopes. The first turned out to be from Headline for The Silent Wife but the second contained an evidence bag! Go to coldkilling.com to find out more.

Showcase Sunday is hosted by Books, Biscuits & Tea.

Ooo, I'm really curious about the Kate Forsyth book. I remember reading and loving a series when I was in Australia by a Kate Forsyth but never seen any book by the same author in the UK…I'm going to see if its the same author or not! 🙂
I did see that the default edition on Goodreads was Australian, so maybe she is! I hadn't heard of her before but I know this isn't her first book.
I just read this post and immediately thought, "ooh, Kindle sale!" I haven't been near the Kindle shop for a few weeks… but I feel my resolve might be slipping…
Hope you enjoy your books, it looks like a good selection and The People of Forever Are Not Afraid sounds really interesting, will be looking forward to hearing what it's like!
Those mysterious black envelopes look pretty exciting!
I received The Sea Sisters and Follow Me Down this week too! Hopefully we'll both enjoy them. 🙂 Happy reading!

I got the cold killing evidence bag too!! I got very excited about it as it was my first mysterious post, but my mum thought that there had been an actual killing xD

AAAA! I've just bought Karen Lord too! Didn't know it was on kindle sale – this is amazing, I would never have been able to afford a full price for this! 🙂
Beautiful haul, Ellie! Really like the look of The Sea Sisters, although I don't know any of these books apart from Karen Lord one obviously. Enjoy!

Wow, what an amazing stack of books. Well, for starters, I immediately added The City to my TBR and I was totally about to add The Sea Sisters to my TBR but… I think it's called Swimming at Night here in the US! And that's one is already on my TBR. 🙂 I'm dying to own Bitter Greens, that book sounds beautiful. Happy Reading!

The Best of All Possible Worlds is in the Kindle sale?? Oh no, that's on my wishlist too… now I'm going to end up buying MORE books, and I thought I'd been so good this week with just the one. I love the evidence bag you were sent – looks like fun! 🙂 Enjoy these and have a great week!
Is Stella Gemmell any relation to David?
Yes, his widow. She finished off one of his books and I think this is her first solo novel.
