I just started Great Expectations yesterday! So far, it has not disappointed.
That 1984 cover is awesome!
I know! In person the black is solid with embossed text, but it was instantly recognisable when I first saw it. Couldn't be any other book in my mind 🙂
Great list! Lots of awesome titles mentioned here 😉 That particular cover of The Handmaid's Tale is very interesting…have yet to read that book myself. And Cold Comfort Farm. One of these days…

Rebecca is an amazing read. One of my favourite classics!
I cannot wait to read Rebecca, I got it as a gift so I'll have to read it soon. And I also look forward to Orwell and Atwood, heard so much about both and am super curious.
Great picks!
A lot of great books that I have yet to read. I have read Nineteen-Eighty Four and The Handmaid's Tale, which I loved and totally forgot about when I was compiling my list.

I'm not much of a classics person either (my main focus is YA), so it isn't that surprising I haven't read any of the books on your list! It's kind of embarrassing, though. 😛 Anyway, I really want to read Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep because a friend of mine watched the movie — which is weirdly titled Blade Runner — and said that it was pretty good, and well, I'm a huge sucker for sci-fi/futuristic books.
1984 and Dracula! It's so encouraging that these two are some of your favorites. The main reason why I don't like reading classics much is because I'm afraid they'll be too slow-moving, or their language too hard to understand. So it's always nice to see when other people have classics I want to read as their favorites. Gives me more motivation!
Great list! There are some many classics out there that I need to catch up on. Thanks for sharing 🙂
I like the stylish covers you chose. I always do judge a book by its cover, can't help it!
These are some very nice classics, apparently you ARE a classics reader 🙂 I have The Handmaiden's Tale on my TBR; it's been there for ages. I really have to get to that one.
I read Dracula when I was still in school and my brother scared me witless because I was so on edge! I'm not sure it would be as scary today, but back then, I was terrified!

Yay for Rebecca! Another yay for Wyndham! AND YES COLD COMFORT FARM! Not nearly enough people talk about this book. I mean, I haven't read it recently, but I read it as a teenager and thought it was so funny and charming and just utterly lovely. I must reread it soon! 🙂
I love Great Expectations, and Pride and Prejudice, they'd probably be on my list too. Lovely to read your choices.
I really enjoyed Rebecca but it's Dracula and The Handmaid's Tale that are really my favourites from that list! I put Dracula off for *years* because I'm an enormous wimp but then I read it and adored everything about it! Mostly the atmosphere because my goodness does that book do sinister better than any other books I've read!
The Handmaid's Tale is just one of those books that my heart won't let go! It just broke my heart a little 😐
I'm new to your blog and just reading through all your posts! I can't believe I haven't read a single book on your list. I'm ashamed!
