It’s that time again to shout about the best books I read this year. I’ve split my lists into adult and young adult, not because I think one can’t stand up to the other, but it’s an excuse to include more books! I really meant to get around to reading Broken Monsters this year, so never quite managed it.
And the same goes for the Kelley Armstrong book.
I've found it impossible this year! I made a post on the 10th but since then I've read and loved Red Rising by Pierce Brown!
My top ten reads here
Thanks for the giveaway Ellie and happy new year!
Xxx
One of my favourites was Hello from the Gillespies. Different to my usual thrillers but a wonderful read!
Some of my favorites were The Dark Duke by Laura Landon, Dead Out by Jon McCoran, and Deadly Ruse by E. Michael Helms. Thanks for having the giveaway.
THE BOOK THIEF and CLOUD ATLAS made my list.
My favourite books of 2014:
1) To Kill a Mockingbird – Harper Lee (about time too!)
2) Books, Baguettes and Bedbugs – Jeremy Mercer
3) Speak – Laurie Halse Anderson
4) The Shock of the Fall – Nathan Filer
5) Darkly Dreaming Dexter (Dexter 1) – Jeff Lindsay
6) Lamb – Christopher Moore
7) The New Hunger (Warm Bodies 0.5) – Isaac Marion
Hope you read some equally wonderful books in 2015! 🙂
Phew, at least I read a couple of this books,Ellie! 🙂
I've read the top 4 but none made my Top 12 list (though The Chrysalids was a long while ago) Some interesting sounding books among the rest
I absolutely loved Our Lady of the Streets too! That's got to be one of my top reads. And I loved the whole of the Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy, and Pantomime and Shadowplay by Laura Lam… And Only Ever Yours by Louise O'Neill.
Thanks for the giveaway!

Some really excellent books you have here. I've really wanted to read The Shock of the Fall as well, and Chrysalids looks inviting.

Happy new year Ellie!
I just bought Station Eleven half an hour ago 🙂 I'd seen it on this list and it was on the Waterstones offer thing, so… The sales assistant was telling me how much she loved it too, so that's reassuring!
I liked Heir of Fire and I WANTED to include it on my list, but I just couldn't. It was good but it didn't make me as Book Happy as the other two so I had to leave it out.
The Shock of the Fall seems to have made it onto a lot of lists though 🙂
My favourite book of 2014 was The Night Circus by Erin Morgernstern! I wish I could read it again for the first time I loved it that much.
i cant wait to read the three, thats my type of book. I dont have a particular fave for 2014, I didnt get as much reading done as i would have liked. x
Loved Ruin and Rising, The Kiss of Deception, The Winner's Curse and Endsinger!
That's an amazing list of books!!! Dying to get my hands on Heir of fire. I really enjoyed One Plus One by Jojo Moyes, The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey and Snow Like Ashes by Sarah Raasch
I loved both Heir of Fire and The Shock of the Fall! Also on my favourites list for this year were NOS4R2 (just plain creepy and amazing), Running Like A Girl (for making me love running again) and Eleanor and Park (because I read it in a day and cried all over it)! 2014 was a jolly good year.
