There’s been a bunting explosion across the country. I am not really bothered by Royal stuff but there is SO much planned for the Jubilee bank holidays, I’m rather looking forward to it. Fingers crossed the weather stays good. New Milton has even arranged for the French market that we usually have at Christmas but has been cancelled in previous years for obvious reasons. There’s this amazing creamy garlicky potato thing that is divine…

Speaking of food, we popped by the Burley Festival this weekend. All the people and food smells seem to have worn Scully out. Maybe we’re finally turning her into an introvert! You can see the drool starting in this photo (it got seriously worse shortly after I took the photo, drool down the the ground – my boyfriend was queuing for a burger and she was clearly expecting something).

Last week I read Twin Crowns by Catherine Doyle and Katherine Webber, a YA fantasy that doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s a tale of two twins switching places and a struggle for the crown. Was fun and I’ll be reading the sequel!

I read Half a Soul by Olivia Atwater for review. This was a fun regency fantasy romance, the vibe reminded me a bit of Emma Newman’s Split Worlds series, except set in the past. I think these books had previously been self published but have now been picked up by Orbit.

And finally I picked up The Legacy of Molly Southbourne by Tade Thompson, the final Molly Southbourne book. I won’t say much about it as it would be quite spoilery for the series, but this was a decent follow up that revisited the characters and answered some questions.

I might actually sign up for 20 Books of Summer tomorrow… and make myself write some reviews!
