Books In

AKA In My Mailbox

Quite a few books in this week although nothing specifically for review so no pressure! First up is the Lily Bard series by Charlaine Harris. I got these for the bargain price of Β£6.99 for the set from The Book People (and with the bonus of a free postage code).

Then I discovered The Crooked Book, a lovely second hand bookshop within walking distance of where I live. I picked up two Karen Maitland books, both historical fiction, Company of Liars and The Owl Killers. There were lots of Jo Nesbos but I couldn’t work out which ones I already had so just got The Leopard. A few bloggers have been reading and recommending The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson recently so was pleased to find it there. Finally, The Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks. I loved World War Z but never read his earlier book.

Finally, Lainy from So Many Books, So Little Time sent my Flu by Wayne Simmons. She’s a big zombie fan and was kind enough to send me Feed earlier in the year.

In My Mailbox is hosted by The Story Siren.

I read one of the Lily Bard books (part two of the series) earlier this year and then I had to have the rest of the books too πŸ™‚ ! Haven't got around reading those yet, but hopefully soon.

That's a nice big stash of books. Not jealous in the slightest (I've decided my next book shop won't be until after Christmas). Look forward to seeing what you think of the Lily Bard books. Always been curious about those.

I did read Company of Liars 1.5 times. The first time I read it I read only half, put it down and forgot about it. Even though I was really enjoying it. Found it again and had to start from the beginning. For some strange reason I didn't enjoy it as much that time but I did finish it.

Love the Book People! There are quite a few people getting presents from there for Christmas this year!

Ooh pretty good week! What is the Lily Bard series? Paranormal mystery? Just mystery? Something else? Haven't heard of these! Also, really wish I'd picked up Company of Liars when it was in the charity shop, it was there for weeks and I didn't bother.

I love Lily Bard series! This is my favorite from Charlaine. It's not paranormal, Hannah. It's a sort of detective series. I've got Company of Liars as well, Ellie, but haven't got around to reading it yet. Enjoy your book haul! πŸ™‚
