AKA Showcase Sunday
Slowest post ever this week, have pre-ordered The Long Earth but it’s still somewhere in the postal system. Boo! Still, plenty of books to be getting on with, including a set of Gollancz greats from The Book People. I know, I know, I already had a an eproof of Shadow of Night but bits were cut off by my Kindle so really happy to get a final copy (plus I just finished A Discovery of Witches and can’t wait to find time to start this behemoth).
For Review:
Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness (Headline)
The Violinist’s Thumb by Sam Kean (Doubleday)
Bought:
Changeling by Philippa Gregory
The Hunter and the Hunted by Kelley Armstrong
I Am Legend by Richard Matheson
The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch
Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes
Hyperion by Dan Simmons
The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss
The Book of the New Sun by Gene Wolfe
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick
Eric by Terry Pratchett
Showcase Sunday is hosted by Books, Biscuits & Tea.

Yep, the sure like the color yellow at Gollancz! ;-P
And ohhh … "The Long Earth" is on my wishlist too, though I'm waiting for the paperback version (as usual). I haven't even read "Snuff" yet though the moment my book buying ban is over (in a week, hooray) this will be among the first books I'll buy!!
Ha! I knew you'd cave and buy the sci-fi set. You can't go wrong with a Book People bargain! 😉
Some really great titles in that sci-fi set, along with some I've never even heard of before. Sounds like you got a right bargain!
Oh wow, I love that set! I've just clicked straight over to go and look at it. So cheap too 🙂
It's not really worth it for me though *sad face* – I'm too scared to read I Am Legend because of the emotional trauma the film caused me, and I already own Do Androids Dream…?, Flowers for Algernon (profoundly depressing) and Eric.
It's a shame though, I love it.
Oh, I didn't realise Kelley Armstrong had a new Kindle book-thingy out. I'm sure I've read that honeymoon story before though – it must have been in a different anthology.
I actually really aren't fond of these Gollancz covers but yay for Name of the Wind and Locke Lamora! I still need to read the latter.
I didn't like them that much when I saw them online but they are growing on me now I have them in person!
Wow that set looks amazing! I've just gone over to the site to look for it and really contemplating buying the books. The covers aren't the best but when you look at the price for the collection compared to them all individually its just a great deal. I have the Lies of Locke Lamora but in hardback form and I am Legend (but not my own copy!) so I think I'll be purchasing this collection definitely!
I had the Shadow of Night from netgalley the other day and I can't wait to read it. It looks so good! 🙂
Happy Reading!

I've wasted no time in getting my hands on this set and have just bought them 🙂 Thanks for sharing this post and bringing them to my attention! Can't wait to read them when they arrive.
Yey! Glad to be of use 🙂
Awesome looking haul this week! Happy reading and enjoy!

The Violinist's Thumb looks so good!
I already saw your photo of the Gollancz books a few days ago on Instagram but I still need to check them out. I hope you'll enjoy them!
