Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
Will these actually be the books I read this autumn? Or will I just flail around reading random things on my kindle?
Empire of the Vampire by Jay Kristoff
I’ve actually just started this chunkster of a book, and I am so ready for vampires to be back in fashion.
My Heart is a Chainsaw by Stephen Graham Jones
This story of a girl obsessed with horror movies and a final girl moving to town sounds like the perfect Halloween themed read.
The Bronzed Beasts by Roshani Chokshi
I can’t wait to find out what happens next, but this all depends on if I actually get a copy. I had trouble with my pre-order of The Silvered Serpents last year, so I just went with an ebook this time…only for that to be cancelled. Amazon seem to be the only place with the hardback listed, so I am doubtful if they will actually get stock in… Fingers crossed!
Far From the Light of Heaven by Tade Thompson
Thanks to Orbit for the review copy, I’m looking forward to seeing how Tade tackles space.
The Winter Garden by Alexandra Bell
I’m always a little resistant to books compared the The Night Circus, because I am like one of three people in the whole world who didn’t love it, but I can still be tempted by a magical Victorian winter garden.
A Marvellous Light by Freya Marske
Thanks to Tor for the review copy. Magical, queer, Edwardian historical fantasy, this sounds fantastic.
Stay Another Day by Juno Dawson
A book inspired by a 90’s boyband Christmas number one? I am intrigued, I don’t really know much about this but I’m hoping it’s festive!
The Book of Form and Emptiness by Ruth Ozeki
I loved A Tale for the Time Being so am looking forward to Ruth’s new novel.
Bad Apples by Will Dean
I love listening to Maya Lindh narrate the Tuva audiobooks, so I’ll definitely be listening to this one on my evening dog walks.
The Apollo Murders by Chris Hadfield
I am so intrigued by this space race murder mystery written by a real life astronaut. I’ve seen positive early reviews, so I think I’m going to give it a chance.

Great list! I want to try A Marvellous Light and I love the sound of My Heart is a Chainsaw.
I loved A Tale for the Time Being too so am very curious about the new one.
Far From the Light of Heaven looks good!
My post: https://lydiaschoch.com/top-ten-tuesday-books-on-my-fall-2021-to-read-list/
These covers looks great even though I have no clue what these books about. The winter garden looks like something I might read. I like to read more books set in space so Far from the light of heaven and The apollo murders sounds intriuging to me.
Have a lovely day.
Just added Empire of the Vampire to my TBR! Love me some vampires. 🙂
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
Great list! A few of these are on my TBR as well and I really love some of these titles 😍 My Heart Is A Chainsaw sounds terrifyingly good! Lol I hope you enjoy all of these reads!
Lots of interesting books to read. I have My Heart is a Chainsaw on my kindle and think it’ll be perfect for this time of the year. Enjoy your books!
I definitely need to read a Ruth Ozeki book, I’ve heard good things about their writing. Happy reading! https://readwithstefani.com/five-fantasy-sci-fi-books-on-my-autumn-tbr/
So many of the books on your list have such pretty covers!

The Winter Garden and A Marvellous Light have stunning covers! Adding both to my list to check out
A great list! I hope you enjoy reading them all.
When you get the opportunity, I hope you can stop by my post: https://readbakecreate.com/autumn-2021-tbr-10-books-i-hope-to-read/
I had to cancel my preorder of The Bronzed Beasts because it became back ordered and had to get it elsewhere. Everyone is talking about the publishing supply chain being broken and now it has me worried about several other preorders I have. I hope you enjoy all the books on your TBR!
My copy turned up yesterday, which was a surprise since my estimated delivery date was mid October! I always have trouble with imports though,I guess I’m not meant to have them but why do that to me if I’ve read 2 books in the series already! I’ve heard a lot of grumblings from the trade about disruption, but so far here books seem to be the one thing not disturbed.
The Winter Garden is on my radar too, sounds great. Nice choices
I’m curious about the new Kristof one. The winter Garden looks nice too.
Murders on the MOON? Yes please.
Oh my gosh, I haven’t read any of the books on your list, but they sound good. Enjoy!
A Marvelous Light and My Heart is a Chainsaw are both I’m curious about too!

A Marvellous Light was on my list this week too! Roshani Chokshi mentioned that The Bronzed Beasts has been affected by the supply chain issues in publishing, my pre-order got cancelled and I’ve managed to get a pre-order somewhere else (not easy as I was trying to avoid Amazon and it’s not stocked many places in the UK) but I got an email from them saying the book wouldn’t be shipped till October so yeah…. hope we both manage to get it eventually!
My TTT: https://jjbookblog.wordpress.com/2021/09/22/top-ten-tuesday-334/
My order from UK Amazon came this week, so hope yours arrives soon too. 🤞
I ordered from Forbidden Planet, but I hope so!
Love this list! I didn’t add Empire of the Vampire to my list but I almost did. Hopefully I can get to it too. Happy reading!
The Apollo Murders was my pick for Can’t-Wait Wednesday this week.
I’m really intrigued to read it.
Hope you enjoy all of your autumn TBR picks, Ellie! I don’t think any of these have come across my book radar so I know nothing about them. Enjoy! and thanks so much for visiting Finding Wonderland on this week.
