It looks like we have reached peak bluebell in the woods. They always look like they’re in full bloom and then a few days later, wham, everywhere is an intense blue. I do feel like they are much more impressive in person than photos tend to capture.

Scully just chilling out among the wood anemones and bluebells (it was either this face, or her yawning):

It’s my last week of work before redundancy, and I’m ready for a break! It’s probably asking a bit much for the weather to stay good?

Since my last update on Thursday, I’ve managed to read a whole two books, the new Rizzoli and Isles from Tess Gerrisen, Listen to Me, and Hide by Kiersten White. That means I’m up-to-date with my 2022 NetGalley reading (my next oldest books are pre-pandemic , so I’m just ignoring them and aiming for 100% of anything new I request). I just need to review them all now.

We finished watching Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency on Netflix and I’m a bit sad to find out it was cancelled. If you could all go watch it so Netflix revives it, that would be amazing. It has good found family vibes and mind-bending mysteries with a decent dollop of humour. It’s weird, in a good way. I might give the books a go as they sound like a completely different plot (and more British).

New books acquired:

When Women Were Dragons by Kelly Barnhill
Notes from the Burning Age by Claire North (ebook)
