AKA Showcase Sunday
Contrary to what this may look like, I am trying to cut down on books between now and Christmas. Which is quite hard when there are lovely publicists waving proofs around on Twitter but I have mostly been restrained! There may have been some accidental clicking in the Kindle sale too but they don’t count… Do they?

Doppler by Erlend Loe (Head of Zeus)
The Sentinel by Mark Oldfield (Head of Zeus)
The Twyning by Terence Blacker (Head of Zeus)
Bought:
The Paris Wife by Paula McLain (book group)
Betrayal by Gregg Olsen (newbooks magazine)
Lily Vanilli’s Sweet Tooth
Discordia by Laurie Penny
The Vampire Shrink by Lynda Hilburn
The Mall by S.L. Grey
Home Improvement: Undead Edition
Showcase Sunday is hosted by Books, Biscuits & Tea.

Just let me dust off this blog thing, I have a review for you! One of my anticipated reads released during lockdown was the follow-up to An Absolutely Remarkable Thing. If you read that, of course will will be dying to know what happened to…
These all look like good books :3 Betrayal has really caught me eye though, hope you enjoy them.
Here is my weekly round-up post.

Betrayal is the sequel to Envy which I haven't read yet, but it's hard to pass up the featured titles on newbooks. Will have to track down a copy of Envy sometime soon.
Accidental clicking? So I'm not the only one who has a mouse that could use a little exorcism due to acting all on its own … and look at that – you also got "The Mall"! 🙂
I was thinking I had been possessed by the ghost of a crazed book hoarder…
I've heard a lot of good things about The Paris Wife. Hope you enjoy! 🙂
Ahh! Erlend Loe wrote one of my favourite ever books (Naive. Super) and I had no idea he had a new book out in English (I've tried tracking down his other novels but I don't think there are translations of his earlier work). I hope you enjoy it!
I just bought Betrayal as well and was lucky enough to have it signed by Gregg! I'm looking forward to it 🙂
So buying books helps towards cutting down what you have to read between now and the end of year? 😉 Kindle books sort of count. Perhaps 1/2? I try to ignore the amount of books I keep buying/downloading onto my Kobo, but it's slowly getting out of hand…
Well no it's not like I have to read any of the books by a certain time anyway. A lot of my review copies are for books not out for a few months but even then, I don't guarantee a review by a certain time, that's not how I do things.
Just trying to cut down on books coming in and not managing very well this week. 🙂
I once read a book by Erlend Loe, very curious how you'll enjoy this one! (Also first time I heard about Head of Zeus press – thanks for pointing them out).
So… that hovering finger did press that button to buy Vampire Shrink? LOL Hope you like it, it's such a mishmash of vampire cliches, cheesy and awkward and slightly satirical, that I actually liked it. Second book was even better. Discordia looks mighty good, want! Enjoy! 🙂
Amazon Kindle sales are evil, aren't they? I've had The Vampire Shrink page open ALL DAY. 99p.. I just.. not sure what I have in my account and if that's the one I want most?
What a lovely recap for the week! Happy Reading!!! My Sunday Edition @ Paulette’s Papers
I love the sound of Lily Vanilli's Sweet Tooth!
