Books In

AKA Showcase Sunday

Yesterday felt a bit like Christmas as the postie greeted me at the door with a huge pile of book-shaped packages. Thanks to everyone who’s sent me books this week! I haven’t linked to the correct editions on Goodreads this time as there is a limit to my time spent librarianing. *flails*

Aren’t those proofs of Wool lovely? Originally self-published as novellas, Random House are publishing them together as a novel next year but still split the proofs up into separate books. I am reading them at the moment and they’re making me feel very productive!

For Review:
Wool by Hugh Howey (Random House)
Unholy Night by Seth Grahame-Smith (Transworld)
Born Weird by Andrew Kaufman (The Friday Project)
The Man from Primrose Lane by James Renner (Corsair)
The Starboard Sea by Amber Dermont (Corsair)
When Captain Flint was Still a Good Man by Nick Dybek (Corsair)
Instructions for a Heatwave by Maggie O’Farrell (Tinder Press)
The Yonahlossee Riding Camp for Girls by Anton DiSclafani (Tinder Press)

The Charm Bracelet by Melissa Hill
The Holiday by Jane Green (and friends)
Dead Witch Walking by Kim Harrison

Showcase Sunday is hosted by Books, Biscuits & Tea.

Those Wool proofs do look beautiful on the shelf – actually seems a shame for them to put them together as one book.

Great haul! The Wool proofs are beautiful, so colourful. Kim Harrison's book looks good too, will have to check it out πŸ™‚ Also I see a few christmassy books here if I'm not mistaken! Enjoy!

What a great idea to produce those proofs this way! I'm a bit surprised that "Wool" is still available on Amazon now that Random House bought the rights? Then again, what do I know how this whole publishing wheel rolls … off I go to buy it for my hungry Kindle before it's really gone!

Are you looking on RH have only bought it for the UK (and it has been removed to buy for kindle on the UK site).

I love how the title of Wool spreads across the spines of all the parts! πŸ™‚ Those are some interesting looking books you got there, hope you enjoy them!

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for Kim Harrison, Ellie! I really hope you like her books. Fab selection this week. I've heard good things about Unholy Night, enjoy! πŸ™‚

Those proofs are gorgeous, they should publish them like that, with a slipcase.

    Happy reading πŸ™‚

Very jealous of Wool! I have part one on my Kindle when it was a freebie (missed out on the omnibus being a freebie) but I'd really like to read them all together.

The first "book" is really only a short story so definitely wait until you can read them in one go. Takes him a while to get into his writing stride too.

I can't wait to read Melissa's book! And I almost picked up The Holiday when we were in Waterstones but I chose something else in the end. I'm looking forward to hearing what you think, though. It sounds great!
